Carcassing
From roofing battens to floor joists, Jewson has a complete range of carcassing available. Most branches carry large stocks of regular, treated carcassing in the most popular sizes ready to take away. Larger sizes can be ordered and delivered to your site, usually within 72 hours. Treated Timber
The life and performance of timber, especially timber that will come into contact with moisture, depends upon how it is treated. Jewson branches carry large stocks of CCP treated timber suitable for use above and below the damp course, in a wide range of sizes, but we can supply bespoke sizes and specially treated material in line with your needs.
Sawn joinery
The majority of Jewson Quality Sawn Joinery Timbers are sourced from the Nordic region. Our environmental policy ensures that the timber comes only from forests which are well managed and sustainable. Most of our sawn joinery is available in 'unsorted' and 'fifths' grades with more specialist grades available where required.
Hardwood and clear grade softwood
Jewson have access to the largest selection of Hardwood and Clear Softwood in the UK. All timbers are available rough sawn or can be machined to your special profile. Your local Jewson branch will be pleased to quote for all your requirements.
PSE Timber
As well as huge specialist milling facilities at our depots in Hull and Newport, and our Grangemouth facilities at International Timber, we have many branches across the country with milling facilities. Our basic service mills offer a sheet material cutting service and cross-cutting, and our larger mills have moulding machines capable of planning timber and producing bespoke profiles to customer specifications. Softwood Mouldings
At Jewson we stock a range of over 300 machined items which cater for the everyday requirements of all our customers. We can also machine bespoke sections to meet individual requirements.
MDF mouldings
The standard range of Jewson MDF Mouldings includes skirting boards, architraves, windowboards and dado rails as well as MDF rebated door casings and door linings. Jewson MDF mouldings come pre-finished with two coats of water-based white primer and a smooth primed surface ready for the paint finish. The precision-made melamine-bonded wood fibre board has no defects, such as shakes, knots and resins, so it's easy to work with. Also, no grain makes precision cutting of mitres very simple.
